HayWire Racing Regrouping After Slow Start

Tacoma, Washington –

Date 6/10/11 – The HayWire Racing team began their season at Evergreen Speedway in

Monroe, Washington on May 28th, only to suffer through some serious growing pains

and head back home after the less than stellar outing to regroup before they return to the

track on June 25th.

The team would be pressed for time preparing the cars for the event, getting to the

track late and missing all of practice. Driver "Terrible" Tim McDougald and his #68

KMB Design / Hargis Engineers / Print-NW / Cornwell Tools / Ringers Gloves Toyota

Camry endured the most pain during the first outing by the small family team. "Terrible"

Tim fought his way through a dismal qualifying effort that left the team with the

discovery that they had the wrong gear ratio in the car.

After making a change to the gears, "Terrible" Tim would push a little too hard in

the warm up laps before the first Main Event as he tried to use this time to recover some

lost practice time. This would prove to be a bad decision as McDougald would end up

spun around backwards, driver side in the wall in turn 4, before the green was even

shown. The damage left the #68 KMB Design / Hargis Engineers / Print-NW / Cornwell

Tools / Ringers Gloves Toyota Camry unable to continue and "Terrible" Tim would call

it a day.

Things were not much better for Tommy Rasmussen and the #92 Mo-Dane

Trucking / RPM Sales & Service / Vital Signs Chevrolet Impala. Rasmussen would suffer

a flat tire while avoiding debris from an early caution in the first Main Event. After

pitting for a new tire, Rasmussen then suffered a failure in the front suspension, ending

his race around the mid-way point.

After the crew made repairs to the #92 Mo-Dane Trucking / RPM Sales & Service

/ Vital Signs Chevrolet Impala, Rasmussen found himself starting on the pole for the

second Main Event. Having made adjustments to the setup based on feedback from the

first race, Rasmussen found that the team had gone too far with those adjustments and

would fight a loose car for the second race. With the race going green for the majority of

the laps, Rasmussen would ride it out and bring the #92 Mo-Dane Trucking / RPM Sales

& Service / Vital Signs Chevrolet Impala home in 7th place, giving the team a much

needed top-10 after a long night.

HayWire Racing will regroup back at the shop and begin preparations for the June

25th scheduled event, again at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. Be sure to

catch the HayWire Racing team as they try to build on Rasmussen's top-10.
