HWR Double Down Again

Tacoma, Washington -
5-23-2012 – HayWire Motorsports plan to field two cars at Evergreen Speedway
this coming weekend as both Tommy Rasmussen and "Terrible" Tim McDougald return
to action in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Super Late Model class.

The #92 Mo-Dane Trucking / RPM Sales & Service / Vital Signs Chevrolet
Impala and driver Tommy Rasmussen return after a solid run in the season opener that
left Rasmussen counting the days until he could get back to the track and back in the
action. Building off his early season momentum, Rasmussen looks to build on that finish
and make a run at the podium this time out.

"Terrible" Tim McDougald and his #68 KMB Design / Hargis Engineers / Print-
NW / Cornwell Tools / Ringers Gloves Toyota Camry continue to be a study in contrast
to his teammate. This event will mark McDougald's first time competing on the 3/8ths
mile oval in Monroe, Washington and his first return to the track after the massive wreck
last season that sidelined him for the second half of the year.

Many drivers have had to adjust not only to the recent track grinding done on the
3/8ths mile oval, but also the more recent addition of an outside and inside retaining wall
around portions of the track. Luckily for "Terrible" Tim, he never knew the track before
all these changes so he is left with a clean slate to start with. "I don't really know what it
was like before," said McDougald. "I've only been on it one time in practice this year and
the car was so bad we couldn't make any laps. I don't think we learned much that time out
other than what ever we were doing wasn't it. We made some wholesale changes, so
hopefully this time out it at least makes it around the track."

Don't miss the action this weekend at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe,
Washington as HayWire Motorsports joins the competition. And be sure to catch the
brothers, Rasmussen and McDougald, as they take to the track together one more time.

TWIN FALLS, IDAHO (May 10, 2012)- Jonathon Gomez,
driver of the #22 Century Boatland/Living
Like a Pirate Chevrolet
in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour has a great deal of optimism heading into the
"GoLiveStream.TV - Blackjack 121" on the 3/8-mile banked oval of The Bullring at LAs Vegas Motor
Speedway this Saturday night. Gomez is the
2010 SRL champion and has been successful at The Bullring.

gomezsrl car

In five previous starts in the SRL at The Bullring, Gomez has
notched three top three finishes (one 2nd place and two 3rd's).
Winning on Saturday is foremost on his mind. "We have had some
tough luck this season," Gomez stated. "A win would be big for
this whole team. The guys have worked hard every week and at
every event."

Gomez has a busy race schedule this year competing in a majority
of the SRL events that do not conflict with his NASCAR
K&N Pro Series schedule. He also plans a handful of starts in the
CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series where has is a
former winner.

Gomez has 18 career starts in the SRL where has scored three
wins, one pole award with 12 top five finishes and 13 finishes
in the top 10.
In the first two races this season, Gomez has had challenges in
qualifying pining him deep in the field to start the races. He has
finishes of 24th and 11th.

Gomez Motorsports is owned by John Gomez, a successful farmer
and businessman based in Idaho. The team is lead by crew chief
Ron Copeland and supported by Craig Raudman, Blaine Bergem,
Derek Copeland, Kyle Cattanach, Adam Wyse, and Mike Mulder.

Gomez most recently competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series
event at Stockton (CA) 99 Speedway last weekend and scored his
first top ten of the season coming home in the sixth position.
The result moved Gomez up to the eighth spot in the standings
just 26-points out of fifth place. His next NKNPS race is May
19th at Iowa Speedway.

Thompson Motorsports Develops Young Racing Talent

JEROME, IDAHO (May 9, 2012)- 18-year old Braeden Havens , driver of the #61 NASCAR K&N Pro
Braeden Havens
Braeden Havens NASCAR K&N Pro Series Chevrolet
Series machine, learned that tight quarter racing and full-size stock cars don't always mix. And while his run this past Saturday was impressive, he and the team left Stockton 99 Speedway disappointed.

Havens qualified ninth at a track where starting positions are a premium and throughout the 150-lap race he held his own making his way up to the fifth position in the closing laps of the race.

What was jubilation quickly turned to frustration when lapped traffic changed his outcome. While making a pass on slower cars, one of those lapped cars got into Havens dropping him from the running order causing him to pit to replace a flat tire.

Havens rebounded to finish 13th at the tail of the lead lap. "Braeden is a heck of good young driver," stated Brett Thompson, team manager. "He listens and learns quickly and knows how to close. He was right there in the top five when it counted but it did not end like we wanted. We are really impressed with what he has been able to do behind the wheel and look forward to better results as the season goes on."
Hannah car
Hannah Newhouse' #61 NASCAR Whelen All American Series Camaro

For 15-year old Hannah Newhouse, her racing odyssey continues in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series at Magic Valley Speedway outside Twin Falls, Idaho. Newhouse' maturity behind the wheel is remarkable considering her lack of experience in full-size stock cars. This past Saturday she brought her ESPN The Fan/Coca Cola sponsored Chevrolet Camaro home in the third position after the 40-lap feature event.

The result was her second consecutive third place performance after winning the season opening race. The NWAAS will contest 21-races over 17 race dates at Magic Valley Speedway and the consistency that Newhouse has shown early will keep her in the championship hunt all season.

Thompson remarked on her intelligence behind the wheel. "Hannah knows how to race," Thompson said. "She does not let others run her rough. She knows how to hold her own and get the most out of the car. It is a long season and she will only get better and you can be certain you will see her in victory lane a lot this season."
Brett Thompson
Brett Thompson

While the youngsters in the Thompson Motorsports stables are growing in their roles, Brett Thompson is focused and will lead the NASCAR K&N Pro Series team for the next two consecutive weekends. The team heads to Iowa Speedway for the annual East/West Shootout on May 19th, then the team heads for an inaugural event in Brainerd, MN May 26. The teams then travel back to the west with an event June 2 at The Bullring at LVMS in Las Vegas, NV where Havens will jump back in the driver's seat.

"This is a tough stretch but we need to move up in the owners points," Thompson said. "I love racing at Iowa as it is one of the finest tracks in the country."

Thompson Motorsports Has Busy Weekend Set

Braeden Havens returns to the 61 this weekend at Stockton 99 Speedway.

JEROME, IDAHO (May 3, 2012)- The Thompson Motorsports team
will be in action this weekend with 18-year old Braeden Havens
returning to the #61 NASCAR K&N Pro Series machine at Stockton (CA)
99 Speedway while Hannah Newhouse welcomes new sponsors to
her NASCAR Whelen All American Series Camaro this Saturday at
Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Havens will make his second start for the Thompson Motorsports
team in his first visit to the quarter-mile oval at Stockton. He is
coming of an eighth place performance back on April 14 and is
looking forward to the challenge that Stockton provides.

"We've been really fortunate and had really good finishes to start
out the year with both the K&N (Pro Series) car and our super
late model," Havens stated. "It's been a lift to our program to
be successful with the new K&N ride, and really has boosted
my confidence as a driver."

"The first race (Havasu) was a 'getting to know each other' event,
and now that we've done that we can just focus on going out
andgetting to the front. Thompson Motorsports racecars are always
fast and well prepared so I'm excited to get back behind the
wheel
of the No. 61 at Stockton this weekend."

Meanwhile, 15-year old Hannah Newhouse welcomes two new
sponsors to the team as 102.9FM ESPN Radio The Zone comes

The NASCAR Whelen All American Series at Magic Valley will
contest 21-races over 17 race weekends through mid-September
and Newhouse is solely focused on winning the season championship
becoming the first and youngest female to do so.

Race Rewind from Miller

Brett Thompson finished a disappointing 20th at last weekends
NASCAR K&N Pro Series race at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
Thompson was running in the top five when another driver got into
the back of his RTTI Chevrolet sending him spinning into the gravel traps.

Thompson was able to return to action but three subsequent flat tires
on three consecutive laps dropped him from contention.

Gomez Hoping to Turn Luck Around at Stockton

Gomez in K&N Car

TWIN FALLS, IDAHO (May 3, 2012)- Jonathon Gomez,
driver of the #22 Century Boatland/Living Like a Pirate Chevrolet
in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, is hoping to turn his luck around at
Stockton (CA) 99 Speedway this weekend after a successful test last
week at the quick quarter-mile paved oval.

This Saturday night, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, in its 59th year,
returns to Stockton for the 22nd time. Gomez will make his first
series start at Stockton but the 29-year old has had success on
the historic oval. Gomez has won in the SPEARS SRL Southwest
Tour back in 2010.

"We had a great test at Stockton and we were among the fastest
in attendance," Gomez said. "If ever we needed
a great qualifying effort this is the race. Craig (Raudman) and
the crew have put a really fast race car together for this weekend."

In the previous 21 series races staged at Stockton, the
furthest back a winner has started was seventh with
Jack McCoy accomplishing the feat back in 1971.
Seven of the last 17 races have been won from the pole.

Stockton 99 Speedway provides drivers and their teams
interesting challenges as the quarter-mile banked oval
has two distinct sets of corners that require a unique set-up.
Turns one and two are more flat but tighter while turns
three and four offer more banking and a wider racing line.

"You have to really set up the guy in front of you and make
the pass in three and four," Gomez said. Turn two closes up
so fast that if you are out of position it is not a good thing."

Gomez sits 12th in the championship standings after three races
just 46-points back from the leaders. A strong finish Saturday night
will more than turn his season around. After running second
with three laps to go at Miller last weekend, a cut tire dashed his
hopes and he wound up finishing 15th.

We just need some luck to come our way," Gomez said. "I am really
excited about Stockton this weekend and think this race could be
the start to turning our season around."

Gomez has made 30 career starts in the NKNPS after making his
series debut at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg,
OR on July 11, 2008.  In his 30 career starts he has five top
five and 12 top ten performances.
He has a career best finish of second place twice (Iowa & Phoenix).

Gomez Motorsports is owned by John Gomez, a successful farmer
and businessman based in Idaho. The team is lead by crew chief
Craig Raudman and supported by Ron Copeland, Blaine Bergem,
Derek Copeland, Kyle Cattanach, Adam Wyse, and Mike Mulder.

Zan Sharp Returns to RMCS Action This Saturday at RMR

BOISE, ID (May 5, 2012)- The CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series returns this weekend to Rocky Mountain Raceways located West of Salt Lake City, UT for the first of four series visits this season. 2011 series champion Zan Sharp of Wellsville, UT will make his first start of the season after deciding to run only a partial schedule in 2012 in order to spend more time with his family.

Sharp is a three-time RMCS champion and has also posted three wins at the ultra-fast 3/8-mile banked
sharp at rmr
Three-time RMCS Champion Zan Sharp
oval since 2004 but his last win at RMR came back in 2009. Since then he has posted three runner-up finishes. Sharp plans to compete in all four series races at RMR this season.

The driver with the hot hand at RMR has been Steve Jones from Meridian, ID. Jones has scored four victories and seven top four performances in the last eight series races. Jones is the defending race winner of this event last year and in the last four series races at RMR he has finished no worse than third.

Jones is the 2010 series champion and is looking to add his name to the record books in 2012 as one of only three champions with multiple crowns. Jones is coming off a runner up performance in the first race of the year two weeks ago at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, ID.

steve jones at rmr
Four-time RMCS Winner Steve Jones
In 27 previous series races staged at RMR, Steve Jones and James Eaton share four wins apiece while Zan Sharp has three victories. Five drivers have two wins each (Jeff Hillock, Eric Rhead, John Dillon, Lynn Hardy, and Dave Minegar) while six different drivers have one victory to their credit.

15-year old Jeremy Doss from Upper Lake, CA claimed the victory in round one at MVS two weeks ago but will not contend for the championship. Two fellow competitors from California intend on challenging for the series crown. Both Steven Gannon and David Braund from the Red Bluff area will make the tow to each series race in 2012. Gannon finished fifth in round one while Braund finished tenth in his first series race.

With a strong finish on Saturday, Jones will likely take over the point standings in his quest for a second title. John Nesmith currently sits third in the standings with Bruce Quale and Gannon rounding out the top five.

CarbonX, the world leader in fire protective clothing, returns for the fifth season as title sponsor of the RMCS which will stage 11-races this season at three distinctive tracks within the region. Century Boatland based in Twin Falls is also back with the series for the third year providing significant event and series support all season long. Since 1985, Century Boatland has been the Magic Valley headquarters for new and used recreational, pleasure, and fishing boats.

Some of the new faces joining the series this season include Steven Gannon and David Braund who will make the tow from the Redding, California area and Morgan Rasmussen from Twin Falls. Familiar faces Travis Monett (Utah), Rick Fowble (Twin Falls), and Thane Alderman from Las Vegas are back for a full campaign along with fan favorites Sharp, Lynn Hardy, Jeff Hillock, Dave Minegar, and John Dillon hitting select races throughout the season.

The RMCS utilizes a racing format not found in ANY other regional touring series around the country. The RMCS inverts up to the top 20 from qualifying putting the fast qualifiers at the back to start each race. This format ensures race fans see what they paid for and that is passing. Each driver is awarded three points per position gained in the event. Points are also awarded for qualifying and heat race finishes. Through the history of the series, the winning driver has averaged a 15th place starting position.
