It is a track that many have competed at but few have mastered the layout over the years. Brett Thompson from Jerome, Idaho returned to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series this past weekend at Phoenix in the Talking Stick "60" on the one-mile paved oval and left with another top ten finish.

While the finish was not what the team had hoped for, but one that they will all take as they positions themselves for a championship run in 2013.

Thompson returned to the seat that he shared last year with renewed optimism, a recharged 'battery", and a focused determination. "I missed driving the full season last year," Thompson offered. "We really like the series and we talked about it over the winter and decided we had some unfinished business. We love the challenge of being in the championship hunt and the team has built new cars that we know will be competitive."

His finish at PIR was part luck, part skill, and part team. "I missed a shift in practice and thought I hurt the motor," Thompson said. "That hampered us in qualifying so we had to start way back. We gave up a lot of straight-away speed but we made up for it with a great handling car in corners. I am really

happy to start the year with a top ten finish."

"Will Harris (crew chief) and the team did a fantastic job all weekend," Thompson continued. "We are really excited about the rest of the season and feel that we can win a few races this year."

Thompson has started 119 NASCAR K&N Pro Series races scoring one win, one pole award, 23 top five and 65 top ten performances. The next event for the Thompson team will be May 4 at Stockton (CA) Speedway. Thompson has always been a top five car at the tricky banked quarter-mile paved oval.

The TMS team is also fielding an entry for Hannah Newhouse in the Intermountain Pro Truck Series as well as selected races in the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series.
