ASA RACING FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, May 26, 2011) - Memorial Day Weekend is traditionally known for big racing events. Many ASA Member Tracks and Sanctioned Series will also be hosting some great affordable family action this weekend.
Here is a look at what is happening this weekend.

GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAY (Elma, WA)

There will be great nights of action this weekend with the ASCS Northwest Sprints and Midgets will be competing on both nights.

MERIDIAN SPEEDWAY (Meridian, ID)

Memorial Day weekend, race fans will remember those drivers who have passed with two nights of action at ASA-sanctioned Meridian Speedway's historic paved quarter-mile oval, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary season. Saturday's schedule is topped by the Bob and Tom Naylor Memorial Classic XXXI featuring the Mtn. Dew Winged Sprints. Also on tap is the Sean Miller 40 for the ESI Express ASA Modifieds. Other classes Saturday include the Pepsi Sprintcars and the Edmark Mini Stocks. Spectacular Drags also will be held, allowing race fans to bring their grocery getter (a k a personal car) onto the racetrack for bracket drag racing. It's also a Racing For Smiles of the Northwest night, meaning a special honoree child will get to tour the pits, meet the drivers and present the trophies. On Monday, the 36th annual Bill Crow Memorial presented by Lowe's Home Improvement will take the spotlight for the NAPA Late Model Sportsman drivers. The College of Western Idaho Professional Truck Driving Street Stocks will run the LeeRoy Nelson 40. The Domino's Pizza Legends return after a layoff, and the Thunder Dogs will also get a shot at the Meridian pavement. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $12 for adult general admission, $9.50 for senior citizens and military personnel with ID, $8 for children ages 7-11 and, as always, children 6 and younger get in free. A family pass for two adults and up to four children costs $36.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACEWAYS (West Valley City, UT)

ASA Weekly Racing will continue on Monday, May 30 with the Young Chevrolet 100; featuring RMCS Late Models, USAC/SLVRA YAG Sprints, Pro Trucks, Figure-8 Cars and Western States Equipment Figure 8 Trains. Monday, May 30 will be Military Appreciation Night. With the help of ITT Corporation, Rocky Mountain Raceways will be offering free spectator admission to all active military and veterans; accompanying family members will receive half-price spectator admission. Gates open at 4:00 pm, qualifying begins at 4:45 pm and racing begins at 6:00 pm. Adult admission is $15.00 and youth admission (5-12) is $5.00.

SKAGIT SPEEDWAY (Burlington, WA)
Memorial Day weekend is time for the John Carroll Classic Race presented by Industrial Resorces. Join us as we salute 'Big John' Carroll. 410 & 360 Sprints, Sportsman Sprints & Outlaw Hornets. Ticket gates open at 5:45pm, racing at 7:00pm.

SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY (Medford, OR)
The Art Pollard Memorial 50 for the Pro Stocks is this Saturday night. The Street Stocks, Super 4's, Dwarf Cars, and Mini Stocks will also be in action. Grandstands open at 4:00pm with Racing at 6:00pm.

YAKIMA SPEEDWAY (Yakima, WA)

Will be back in action on Saturday, June 4. The Super Streets, Pure Stocks, Hornets, Youth Hornets and Bump to Pass will be in action. Time trials at 5:15pm with racing at 6:00pm.
