KALISPELL TOYOTA BEST OF THE WEST 125 OFFERS $5,000 WINNER’S CHECK

KALISPELL, Montana — With the Rumble in the Rockies weekend set for August 5 – 7 featuring the NASCAR Pro Series West and a 125-lap late model shootout, officials with TTC Thornton, Kalispell Toyota and Montana Raceway Park have announced the purse structure for the late model portion of the weekend.

A full 24-car field will be set through a format similar to the Montana 200 where the fastest 12 cars are locked into the starting field while the remaining 12 positions will be secured through a qualification heat race.

The winner of the Kalispell Toyota Best of the West Tundra 125 will pocket $5,000 with each team receiving a minimum of $450 to start the main event.

The race is an open competition event similar to the 2009 Can-Am late model show. Teams that ran the July 17 Montana 200 have been notified of the upcoming Best of the Race with four-time 200 champion, Gary Lewis and 2010 runner-up, Jason Frasier, among the first drivers to file an entry.

Also expected to compete are the drivers from MRP’s Lucas Oil Super Late Model division including points leader Alex Lessor, second in points Brian Levant, Bodie Morton (3rd), Wrango West (4th), David Garber (5th), Cory Wolfe (7th), Billy Salmonsen (12th) and a slew of regional talent including Jay Sauls.

‘The Kalispell Toyota Best in the West Tundra 125 will be an exciting race to kick off the Saturday night portion of the NASCAR Rumble in the Rockies weekend,” said general manager and promoter Justin Rody. “TTC Thornton continues to bring the best racing to the Flathead Valley along with the ownership and employees of Kalispell Toyota/Scion who’ve stepped up to offer this tremendous purse for a 125-lap shootout. The Rumble in the Rockies is a must-see for race fans next weekend.”

Tickets are selling fast for the NASCAR Rumble in the Rockies weekend being held Aug. 5-7 at Montana Raceway Park. A two-day pass is only $50 and includes dinner on Thursday, Aug. 5, Friday night’s qualifying and positioning racing for the late models, a full program for the MRP super stocks, action from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West teams as they prepare for the Toyota NAPA Bonus Challenge and much more.

Saturday night the Best of the West 125 precedes the NASCAR West 150 lap affair.
