Drifting returns this Saturday at PGP Motorsports Park

Rain or shine, hot or cold, when the best drifters in the Pacific Northwest get down to business on the region's top motorsports venue: FIREWORKS!

Between the tire smoke, the screaming engines as the drivers go through the gears, the "oohs" and "aahs" of the crowd, and the party going on in the paddock - you'd think it was the Fourth of July and New Year's Eve all rolled into one.

The Stars of PGP Drift Series returns to PGP this Saturday with Round 3 of the Fall & Winter Drift Series. The first drift event of the year is likely also the earliest to ever be held in the Pacific Northwest - which is OK with us because we like being the first to do cool things.

Whatever the weather does, the drifting will go on - we're not sure it's possible but drivers tell us drifting at PGP is even MORE FUN in the rain - using both directions of PGP's .82-mile, 14-turn state-of-the-art asphalt track. The driver lineup includes some of the best in the Northwest as well as a few complete novices so you won't want to miss a run.

Speaking of cool, how about getting some karting action between rounds of drifting? Spectators and pit crew will have their chance to drift the rental karts and have their thrills during intermissions. Cost for Winter Drift spectator entry is $10 with 5 and under free. Gates open at 11 a.m. with drifting from noon to dusk.

There will be a live broadcast with commentary of Saturday's event provided by eventbuilder.com and accessible through a link on the PGP website at www.PacificGP.com. The event will also be available for "on demand" viewing after Saturday by following the same link.

The Fall-Winter Drift Series returns to PGP for Round 4 on Feb. 12 and the finale on March 12, so mark your calendars.
