ASA RACING ON TAP THIS WEEKEND


DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, April 22, 2010) - The action continues to pick up at ASA Member Tracks and sanctioned series this weekend. Here is what is happening.

GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAY (Elma, WA)

Mother Nature prevented the season opener this past Saturday night, so they will try it again this Saturday night. Sprints, Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and Hornets are on the docket. Racing gets underway at 6:30 p.m.

MERIDIAN SPEEDWAY (Meridian, ID)

The second half of season-opening action at ASA-sanctioned Meridian Speedway takes place Saturday with the Sprintcar Season Opener featuring the Mtn. Dew Winged Sprints, Pepsi Sprintcars, Mini Stocks and Domino's Legends. New fast-time records are coming after the quarter-mile oval's dynamic changed with more banking and new pavement. Current record-holders Sierra Jackson of Middleton, Idaho (11.297 seconds in the Winged Sprints), Johnny Giesler of Meridian (13.166 in Non-winged, now known as Pepsi Sprintcars), Ray Bolinger of Meridian (15.565 in Mini Stocks) and Travis Anderson of Boise (15.197 in Legends) are expected to open their pursuit of more hardware.

SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY (Medford, OR)

It will be an another exciting of racing this Saturday night as the Late Models will be competing in a $2,000 to win race. Also in action are the Pro Stocks, Super 4's, Street Stocks, and Mini Stocks. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing at 6:00 p.m.

SKAGIT SPEEDWAY (Burlington, WA)

It will be a busy night of racing this Saturday night with the Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series - Round II. The 410, 360, Sportsman Sprint Cars will be in action plus the Outlaw Hornets. Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. with racing underway at 7 p.m.

YAKIMA SPEEDWAY (Yakima, WA)

The 45th Annual Season Opener is this Saturday Night. The first weekly event of the 2010 season will feature Late Models, Sportsman, Hornets, Youth Hornets and Bump to Pass. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing getting underway at 6:00 p.m.
