XTREME DRIFT CIRCUIT HITS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST FOR THE FIRST TIME

August 3, 2011 (Tustin, Calif.) – For the first time, a national level Drifting competition will hit the PGP Motorsports Park in Kent, Washington as the Xtreme Drift Circuit will wrap up its 2011 Western Division championship on Saturday, August 13.

Drifting is a high-speed motorsport where cars are slid through a marked course and judged on execution and style, not speed and time. It is often referred to as the action sport of car racing. The drifting competition, which is the final round of the Xtreme Drift Circuit’s Western Division championship, will also see drivers competing for $9000 in cash.

George Marstanovic, from Flagstaff, Arizona, enters the final event as the leader of the XDC Western Division championship leader with a 49 point lead ahead of Dave Briggs from Richmond, Ontario, Canada. Two points behind is recently crowned XDC Eastern Division champion, Chelsea DeNofa, from Orlando, Florida. There are also several local drivers entered, including Mike Phillips from Seattle, Shawn Hartum from Tomahawk, Walker Wilkerson from Snohomish, and David Wheaton from Bellevue.

In addition to drifting, the XDC event will feature the REMIX Car Show. REMIX will feature hundreds of show cars, trucks, and motorcycles as the Ultimate 2-Wheeled Nation Tour will also take part in the event. Amongst the show cars, the Cooper Tire Stage will feature live performances throughout the day, as well as an event that is always a crowd favorite – the XDC Model Competition.

Tickets can be ordered online at www.xtremedriftcircuit.com. Tickets are $20, while children 10 and under are free. The event begins at noon and will end at 7:00 PM.

PGP Motorsports Park is located at 31001 144th Avenue SE, Kent, WA 98042. PGP Motorsports Park can be reached at (253) 639-7223.
