MORRIS WINS ASA ADVANCE TESTING BC LATE MODEL TOUR EVENT AT WESTERN SPEEDWAY

Saturday night’s ASA Advance Testing BC Late Model Tour had Agassis' Speedways full grandstand on their feet watching the battle heat up on the race track and in the first ever ASA Canadian Championship Points Title!

Geoff Morris and crew survived an early practice engine failure and proved once again that hard work and dedication wins every time by changing to a backup motor. Morris would also survive a late race incident while leading with Dave Hemrich's aggression finding the spinning Morris and Hemrich relished to the back.

The championship contenders would put on a show for the fans watching them come through the field to once again take the lead and Morris would eventually go on to take the win in front of a spirited crowd.

The total points for the day that include qualifying, heat race finsh, and 100 lap main event finish would see Dave Hemrich take home the PGS Construction bonus money as well as the Harding Forklift fast time award. Geoff Morris would finish the day 2nd in points and receive the PGS Construction bonus money. Korbin Thomas would round out the top three and also receive the PGS Construction Bonus Check!

The series points battle could not be any more contested with the top four all within striking distance of the championship title.

Series points leader Tom Berrow would survive an early incident with Murray Dyck and find himself one lap down after making his way to the pits but would eventually get back on the lead lap after assuming the lead when Morris and Hemrich would get together. The always fast Korbin Thomas would limp his wounded car home in third with Berrow and Brent Morris on his heals.

The series title is on the line with the final championship race just around the corner. The championship contenders will find themselves at the historic Canada 200 in Victoria BC Sept.3rd.

The 200-lap event on Western Speedways flat 4/10ths of a mile is one of Canada's most prestigious ashault late model races in the country. The fans will be treated to an unprecedented points battle that will see the top four contenders just 16 points out of the lead with last years champion Tom Berrow holding on to a slim two point lead over Geoff Morris with Dave Hemrich and Brent Morris all within striking distance.

Don't miss the final and first ever ASA Advance Testing BC Late Model Tours final event Saturday September, 3rd/2011at Western Speedway.
