NASCAR selects 17 year old, Jessica Dana to participate in the Drive for Diversity Combine

Olympia, WA. — (September 19th, 2012) Washington’s 17 year old racing sensation Jessica Dana has been selected with 15 other drivers from around the Country to compete in NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity Combine, at Langley Speedway, VA. Rev Racing, based in Charlotte, NC, in partnership with NASCAR, will select an undisclosed number of drivers from the Combine, October 16 – 18, 2012, for the 2013 team. If chosen after the combine evaluation, the driver will be offered a full time, fully funded ride with a K&N East or Late Model Team based out of Charlotte, NC. NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity, adapted in 2004 and is designed to attract women and minorities to the sport. The Combine evaluates drivers for car knowledge, physical fitness, driving abilities and personality.
Now just 18 races into her career, Jessica Dana will compete this Saturday at Evergreen Speedway in her last race of this season at the Super Speedway of the West, it will be Jessica’s third experience with speeds approaching 150 mph.

“I had so much fun at the track and with the people at Evergreen,” said Jessica, after competing in the Summer Showdown June 28 & 29. After qualifying 37 of 41 in the Summer Showdown, Jessica managed to climb to 5th place by lap 135 in the caution flagged filled race by being patient and taking care of her car. Contact with a lap car at lap 145, ended her night early.
Jessica’s father, Troy Dana said “We are excited for Jess and the team; our expectations are fairly modest at this point given the caliber of the drivers selected by the program in the past.”

New Sponsors Heavy Equipment Supply Source and Budsberg Law Group have joined season long sponsors such as OBEE Credit Union, Pints and Quarts, Print Northwest, 94.5 Roxy, Fusion Graphix, Putnam & Lieb, Knight Fire Protection, and River’s Edge. “We are thrilled about our new relationship with this talented young lady and her dedicated team” said Mike Sonderby, President/CEO, Heavy Equipment Supply Source.
