Minegar Ready to get Back on Track at RMR

Minegar Racing and BodyBuilding.Com Honor Memory of Jayden DeLuca

BOISE, IDAHO (May 5, 2010) While racing can stir the passions of fans and racers alike, it is also a great platform to send a message. This weekend, as two-time CarbonX Rocky Mountain Series champion Dave Minegar prepares for action at Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley, Utah, he is also helping raise awareness and money for the Jayden DeLuca Foundation.

The Jayden DeLuca Foundation was started in 2007 to honor the memory of Jayden DeLuca and raise awareness for the American Heart Association and childhood cardiac disease.

Minegar racing will field two teams in the Jayden DeLuca golf tournament at the Ridgecrest Golf Club in Nampa, Idaho on Thursday. Log onto to www.jaydendelucafoundation.org for complete details.

Minegar Racing will also spend Friday at the Fit Expo in the Qwest Arena downtown Boise with sponsor BodyBuilding.Com and will have both team cars on display. The Fit Expo celebrates fitness and nutrition and is free to attend. For complete details log onto www.bodybuilding.com/fun/2010-bodybuilding.com-fitness-expo.htm.

After the Fit Expo on Friday the team will load up and head to Salt Lake City for round two of the ten race-race championship series. It has been a busy two-weeks for the Minegar racing team after a rough start to the 2010 campaign at the opening event.

"Pat Minegar (owner) gives us the tools and resources to compete at a high level and I need to thank Craig Bell and Larry Bowers for their tireless effort to get the #9 ready to go for this weekend after a hard crash at Magic Valley," Minegar said.

Minegar has scored two wins and seven top five finishes in 19 starts at RMR and nothing would complete the long week like a win. "I really like racing at RMR," Minegar said. "The track is wide and fast. We have had a lot of success there in the past and we have a car capable of winning. I look forward to a great weekend for our team and our sponsors BodyBuilding.Com and the Jayden DeLuca Foundation."

Rocky Mountain Raceways is a banked 3/8-mile paved oval that lends itself to two-wide and sometimes three-wide racing. "We have always been good at RMR," Minegar offered. "It is really a perfect track for our series and the invert. You can start at the back and move to the front without the pressure of laps working against you. It is just a great place to race."

Minegar racing is sponsored by BodyBuilding.com, Redline, Gaspari Nutrition, Supreme Nutrition, MusclePharm, Optimum Nutrition, A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning, Lennox, and Dillon Auto Craft. Minegar is in his seventh season in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series and is a two-time series champion (06, 08) with 52 career starts, six wins, 21 top five and 40 top ten finishes along with twenty (21) career Sharp Powder Coating Fast Time Awards and most career money won.
