SKAGIT SPEEDWAY (Burlington, WA)

Of Interest:        Prior to the season opener Skagit Speedway announced that changes were coming to its Outlaw Hornet Division with the biggest changes being a re-styling to the cars and a name change to
the Outlaw Tuner Car Class with the rebranding coming from the popular drifting events and is also the reference made when referring to the custom high performance street cars.
“If you ask a 17 year old what a Hornet is, he will probably tell you it is something that stings you, ask him what a Tuner Car is and he will know exactly what you are talking about," said
promoter Steve Beitler, “We have made several changes the past couple years to focus on attracting the younger crowd into racing and attending the races. The change will be big for this
class since most of the under-25 crowd can relate to the Tuner Car brand."
The Tuner cars will be allowed to put an aftermarket wing/spoiler on the rear of the cars. They will also be allowed to add a ground-effects package including lowered side skirts and a front
lower spoiler around the grill and front bumper area.
