DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, March 6, 2013) – Skagit Speedway is gearing up for their 2013 racing season. Once again, they will be racing under the ASA Member Track banner.

Skagit’s 59th season will open on Saturday, April 20 with a full racing program featuring the 410 Sprints, 360 Sprints, Sportsman Sprints and Outlaw Hornets.

Every year, Steve Beitler, Skagit Speedway Promoter, and his staff try to make an improvement to the facility. This season, their focus is more on the fan experience. They are creating a unique fan zone in the infield where fans can upgrade to a pit pass and enjoy the racing action from the infield as well as get an inside look at the teams working in the pits.

Along with their weekly Saturday night program, they will be hosting some well-known events this season.

On Saturday, May 11, Skagit Speedway will host the first ever Summer Thunder Series featuring the 360 Sprint cars. Top drivers from the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada will compete in a four round series.

Rounds two and three will be part of the Bob’s Burgers & Brew Summer Nationals on July 26-27 with the finale on August 29.

The 42nd Annual Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup is scheduled for June 20-22. This nationally recognized event has won numerous awards for being one of the top short track events in the United States. It draws some of the best Winged Outlaw drivers from all over.

The World of Outlaw Sprint Cars will make their annual visit on August 31. Tickets typically sell fast for this event.

Tickets for their big events are on sale now by visiting www.skagitspeedway.com/tickets/.

“We continue to have a successful relationship with ASA Racing and are proud to be part of their ASA Member Track program again this season,” Beitler said. “Dennis Huth and his staff do a great job of assisting tracks like Skagit Speedway. They are true supporters of short track racing.”

“We are excited to have Skagit Speedway as part of the ASA Member Track program in 2013,” Dennis Huth, ASA Racing President said. “Steve and his staff always put on a fantastic show week after week. The proof of this is that Steve was nominated for the Auto Racing Promoter of the Year award three times in the last four years. We look forward to working with them again this year.”
