PGP OFFERS ADVANCED JUNIOR RACING CLINC FOR YOUNG

KENT, Wash. — (Feb. 9, 2012) What do 2011 Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, 2012 24 Hours of Daytona winner A.J. Allmendinger and 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart have in common? The answer is karting! And these three are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to listing motorsports legends past and present who got their racing start in karting.

With that in mind, PGP is pleased to offer our first Advanced Junior Racing Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 26. Designed to expand upon the lessons taught in our Young Guns/Junior Racers school, this clinic will add the racecraft element to those skills. The curriculum includes:

· Teaching young drivers to understand and diagnose handling characteristics and conditions

· Teaching proper race starting procedures and strategies

· Teaching racecraft etiquette and proper sportsmanship

Taught by guest instructor Derek Wang, a multi-time participant at the Rotax World Finals, and PGP General Manager Scott Cowell, the Advanced Junior Racing Clinic will use PGP’s full-sized Birel N-35 Karts to give all drivers a feel for racing with equal equipment. Participants will get plenty of hands-on experience, too, as maximum track time is built into the program to reinforce new skills learned.

The three-hour clinic is open to all Young Guns/Junior Racers school graduates meeting the minimum height requirement of 4-foot-10. To ensure an optimal driver-to-instructor ratio, the clinic is limited to the first 15 drivers to complete the mandatory preregistration. The all-inclusive cost is $175 per driver.

Interested in taking part in the Advanced Junior Racing Clinic but haven’t completed Young Guns racing school yet? Don’t worry, there’s still time. Junior Racers programs will be offered on an appointment basis right up to the day before the clinic. Junior Racers programs can be booked by calling the track at (253) 639-7223.
