Bullet Racing Announces 2012 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona Campaign

VANCOUVER, Canada (November 8, 2011) -- Bullet Racing announced today its entry into the 50th anniversary edition of the “Rolex 24 At Daytona”, the preeminent sports car endurance race in North America, to be held January 26-29, 2012 in Daytona Beach, Florida.


“We are extremely excited to announce our return to the biggest race on the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car series calendar. The fact that this year’s edition of the 24 at Daytona is the 50th anniversary of the race, and that we will once again be representing Canada as the only Canadian entry, makes it all the more special”, says Team Principal Steve Paquette. “We’re looking forward to bringing a strong team to the race again this year, and building on last year’s achievement of a terrific qualifying run, and running as high as 4th in the race”

Vancouver native Darryl O’Young returns to Bullet Racing as lead driver for the 2012 Rolex 24 at Daytona. Darryl also races in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and the Porsche Super Cup in Europe. He is a 3 time winner of the famed Macau Grand Prix, and currently competes in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

Bullet Racing team drivers Bob Yeager of West Vancouver BC, Joe White of Spokane Valley, WA and Randy Blaylock of Bothell, WA will be testing the team’s 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup race car at Daytona on December 6th and 7th. Randy and Joe recently piloted Bullet Racing’s entry to overall victory in the 2011 “8 Hours of the Cascades” at Portland International Raceway.

The” Bullet Racing Driver Development Program” operates for the purpose of developing drivers to race for the team at high profile races like the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Joe White and Bob Yeager are both part of this program and are excited about their chances in this years Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Guard Transmission will be supporting the effort in 2012 as the primary drive train sponsor. President and CEO Matt Monson was on hand in Vancouver for the announcement. “We have done an incredible amount of research and development on the Porsche transmissions and differentials. We are confident that our products will carry Bullet the full 24 Hours and beyond.“
