ALOHA, OR, May 10, 2011 - For the second year, Lux Performance Group, LLC will manage the Celebrity/Guest Driver Program for Dodge and its Dodge Viper Cup. Lux Performance Group, owned by Cindi and Fred Lux of Aloha, OR, has been a Dodge "works" program since 2005 and was instrumental in the successful creation and execution of the Dodge Viper Cup Celebrity program in 2010. The Aloha, OR-based operation will prepare two Dodge Viper ACR-X for a pair of celebrity/guest drivers at each of the ten races which make the one-make series' 2011 schedule. The opening round for the duo of guest-driven Lux Performance Group Vipers is scheduled for May 14-15 at Sebring (FL) International Raceway.
The Dodge Viper Cup will be the second major Dodge-related activity for Cindi Lux and Lux Performance Group thus far in 2011. Lux was asked to join the litany of Dodge Motorsports-backed competitors at the Dodge Motorsports Athlete's Summit in early April. The multi-day event brought athletes from around Dodge-supported activities to Salt Lake City to compete in a made-for-TV event on the Miller Motorsports Park road course. While the results are a tightly held secret until the event's airing on Versus later this year, Cindi Lux featured prominently in the event which pitted Dodge drivers from NASCAR, the NHRA, off-road, motocross competition and more in identical Dodge Viper ACR-X. Lux Performance prepared two of the entries including the Vipers for Kurt Busch (NASCAR), Ivan Tedesco (Supercross) and Mark Hall (Monster Jam).

As it was in 2010, Lux Performance Group will be responsible for every aspect of the Celebrity Driver entries in the five-weekend Viper Cup series. Lux Performance will prepare the not-road-legal, race cars and transport the V10-powered machines to each track. Once on location, Cindi Lux, a Dodge and Mopar factory driver from 2005-2008, will coach the guest drivers on the ins-and-outs of competition while the Fred Lux-led crew will maintain the front-engined exotics throughout the race weekend.
In 2010, the first season of the Dodge-supported Viper Cup, Lux Performance Group shepherded through ten guest drivers including Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles, automotive journalists, Olympic and X-Game athletes as well as other professional race drivers from non-sports car disciplines of the sport. Through Lux Performance's superior car preparation and the hands-on guidance of 12-time road racing champion Cindi Lux, the pair of Lux-readied ACR-X won tworaces and finished with five podiums. The success of the Lux Performance entries earned nearly $50,000 for charity.
The Dodge Viper Cup will be featured on some of the most celebrated race courses in North America. After the 2011 debut at Sebring, Lux Performance Group will travel with the Series to New Jersey Motorsports Park (June 11-12), Virginia International Raceway (July 9-10) and Texas World Speedway (September 3-4). The Series will then return to Florida to close the season at the world famous Daytona International Speedway (October 22-23).
The complete 2011 Dodge Viper Cup season will be featured on Versus TV for a second season adding to the prestige of this unique, one-make championship. Please check local listings for broadcast times. News and features from the race weekends can be found at both www.CindiLux.com and www.ViperHeadquarters.com.

The Dodge Viper Cup will be but a small part of Cindi Lux's 2011 schedule. In June, the popular Northwest driver will return to Portland's annual Rose Cup race. The long-held event is deeply rooted in her family's history and Lux has campaigned the race 15 times in her career dating to 1989. Lux, who has more than 75 victories and over 150 podium-finishes on her resume, is also in conversation regarding several more opportunities to showcase her skill behind the wheel.

About the Dodge Viper Cup Celebrity Program: "Anytime we prep and race Dodge race cars, I am in heaven. They are so easy to race both on the pocketbook and from a maintenance standpoint it makes our job a lot easier. This celebrity program is so rewarding. It exposes new players to the Viper platform and I love to watch their eyes when they get out of it for the first time. Everyone is hooked whether it's a champion like Richie Hearn [IndyCar veteran] or a novice to the sport like Bucky Lasek [professional skateboarder]. That is probably the best part of doing this celebrity program for Dodge. We're starting to line up the drivers and conduct some training for the new season. I think we're going to have a great group this year. I know it will be an absolute blast out there for Lux Performance Group!"
About the Dodge Athlete's Summit: "Having the Dodge drivers from all forms of motorsports together was very hilarious to say the least. There are some distinguished members of the Dodge racing family and it was amazing to get to know some of them. Can't say how the race ended up but the fans certainly need to tune into Versus channel to see that battle on the race track. And of course, racing against 'The Captain', Mr. [Roger] Penske, was an honor I will undoubtedly treasure the rest of my life. The whole event was really unique and cool to be invited to participate in."
