January 21, 2011 (Yakima Speedway, ASA Member Track, Yakima WA)- Yakima Speedway has released 2011 schedule for the 46th Season on the fastest half mile on the West Coast.
The highly regarded and prestigious 45th running of the Apple Cup will kick off the year on April 9th. For the first time ever this event will include the NW Legend Series as well as Late Models, Street Stocks, Sportsman and Pure Stocks. Also in April we will feature the 2nd annual Yakima Speedway Super Late Model Challenge Series which will debut April 23rd. This class quickly became the best Late Model division in the Northwest, showcasing the best drivers in on the West Coast and Canada.
Yakima Speedway has put together a very exciting schedule. Along with the Yakima Speedway Super Late Model Challenge Series, Street Stocks, Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Hornets, Youth Hornets and the fan favorite Bump To Pass classes we will be hosting some of the greatest touring race series.
On May 7th Yakima Speedway will host the season opener for the Northwest Pro 4 Truck Series. The Fourth of July double header weekend will feature the 3rd Annual Washington Street Stock Challenge which is an exciting event featuring the best of the best Street Stock racers from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Canada. Mid-August the 2nd Annual Open Wheel Extravaganza will be held featuring the 360 Sprints, Midgets, West Coast Vintage Racers and Vintage Mods. Last year this sold out event brought out many race fans and race enthusiasts to witness some of the best open wheel racing action ever on the famed half mile. Both Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends will be packed with racing action and the Season Ending Fall Classic will Run October 1st and 2nd.
Yakima Speedway will also be one of the feature tracks supporting the new Northwest Promoters Street Stock Series. This series will be included along with the Yakima Speedway Street Stocks during the Apple Cup, Washington Street Stock Challenge and the Fall Classic.
