I-5 CORRIDOR SERIES RETURNS TO PGP THIS WEEKEND

KENT, Wash. — (August 24, 2011) The top kart pilots in the Pacific Northwest will battle at PGP this weekend when the I-5 Corridor Series returns to the state of Washington for races 5 and 6.

Our own Stars of PGP Kart Series will also be running both days but unlike the last time the I-5 Series visited PGP we’ll have Clone and Rental Kart groups racing on both days.

PGP will once again have Simply The Best catering on-site on Saturday and depending on demand they will return for Sunday. With the forecast for the weekend calling for sunshine and warm summer weather, so don’t forget to pack your sunscreen.

Regional karters need to show up in force this weekend to keep pace with the phenomenal turnouts PGP has seen at recent Rental Kart League Racing, Xtreme Drift Circuit and SuperMoto USA competitions.

PGP will kick-off the weekend at 9 a.m. on Friday with dedicated kart practice sessions for both racers in both the I-5 Series and the Stars of PGP Kart Series. We’ll also have rental karts available later on Friday and Saturday night for those who want to hang out at the track.

Jointly hosted by PGP and Pat’s Acres Racing Complex (PARC) in Canby, Ore., the I-5 Corridor Series follows a race weekend format and uses the popular SKUSA stock Honda class structure to help prepare racers for this year’s SKUSA's ProMoto Tour and the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas this November.

As always, this event will be adhering to RMC structure from top to bottom, using accredited officials and running the tried and true PGP to the minute schedule.

The opening two rounds of the eight-race series were held at PARC on May 28-29 before shifting to PGP for races 3 and 4 on June 25-26. For race recaps, points, photos, rules and schedules — everything you need to know about the I-5 Series — visit www.I5corridorseries.com.

I-5 Series events at PGP will also be broadcast online live and can be viewed by following the link on PGP’s website, www.pacificgp.com. Events will also be available for “on demand” viewing afterwards by following the same link. We’ve made adjustments to make viewing events at PGP easier than before, so no information is required — just click on the link and watch.
