Tiger Racing and Wellendorf Performance Wowed the Crowd in Tulsa

Covina, California (24 June 2011) - Tiger Racing and Wellendorf Performance’s Paul Brown took a much needed break from the very competitive Pirelli World Challenge series in which they are leading both driver’s and team points in the GTS class. The team took the Lucas Oil/K&N Filter’s Mustang Boss 302S to the 37th Annual Mid America Ford and Team Shelby meet in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is one of the longest running Shelby Club and Ford meets in North America that includes two days of open track running at Hallett Motor Raceway, drag racing at Tulsa Raceway Park and wraps up the weekend with a car show at the Southern Hills Marriott.

Planning on having as much fun as possible over the weekend, the team added a passenger seat to the Boss race car and Paul spent two days ripping around the track with one victim after another buckled into the cockpit next to him. Frightening the tourists wasn’t the only agenda though. Both Baer Brakes and Tremec Transmission are team sponsors and sponsored the event, so Brown thought it would be fun to show off their products in front of everyone.

Tremec’s T56 Magnum direct shift transmission will be released this fall. After testing it on track, Brown said, “With the shifter now built into the tail shaft, it has a much more precise shift pattern and feel. We ran the crap out of the transmission as well as beating on Baer Brakes’ new GA4 caliper designed for World Challenge and Grand-Am competition.” He later added, “This Mustang Boss 302S was flawless. Between giving rides, testing new components, beating up Pirelli’s new race tires and even putting on a show during the exhibition race, I had a blast!”

After the track events ended, the team took the opportunity to move the #50 Boss 302S race car into the lobby of the Marriott. That car on display, front and center, was striking, but to double the impact, a second car was added. The team has been racing the Boss 302S prototype thus far in the Pirelli World Challenge Series and now, Wellendorf Performance has taken delivery of the first production Boss 302S to roll out the doors from Ford Motor Comany, just in time to make it’s presence known at this exciting event.

Special thanks to the entire Mid America event staff, as well as our sponsors and supporters, Lucas Oil, K&N Engineering, Wellendorf Performance, Ford Racing, Baer Brakes, Tremec Transmission, ERP/JRZ dampers, Eibach Springs, BBS, Pirelli, Moroso, Hawk Performance, Bassani Xhaust, Kenny Brown Performance, G-Stream, Optima Batteries and McCarthy’s One Hour Heating & Air.
