I-5 CORRIDOR SERIES WEBSITE LAUNCHED WITH INFO, PHOTOS & LOTS MORE

KENT, Wash. — (April 4, 2011) Want to know something about the 2011 I-5 Corridor Series but don’t want to go five different places to find out? We like one-stop-shopping, too, so PGP Motorsports Park and Pat’s Acres Racing Complex are pleased to announce a central information center has been set up where nearly all questions about the Northwest’s premier traveling kart series.

That place is www.I5corridorseries.com, and there you can find schedules, rules, directions and information on incentive programs as well as points, photos and news updates. While you’re online checking the website out, don’t forget to head over to Facebook and like the series page, “Pat's Acres and PGP I-5 Karting Series.”

This year’s I-5 Corridor Series will again focus on a very concentrated class structure, maximizing your time on track time during each event. By using the double race weekend format for eight rounds (two throwaways), travel expenses for those running the entire series will be minimized. The dates and locations are:

· Races 1 and 2: Pats Acres Racing Complex (PARC), May 28-29
· Races 3 and 4: PGP Motorsports Park (PGP), June 25-26
· Races 5 and 6: PGP Motorsports Park (PGP), Aug. 27-28
· Races 7 and 8: Pats Acres Racing Complex (PARC), Sept. 10-11

I-5 Series events at PGP Motorsports Park will also be broadcast online live and can be viewed by following the link on PGP’s website, www.pacificgp.com. Events will also be available for “on demand” viewing afterwards by following the same link. We’ve made adjustments to make viewing events at PGP easier than before, so no information is required — just click on the link and watch.

This season the I-5 Corridor Series will focus almost exclusively on the two segments of the karting industry that have experienced growth in a period of declining participation: Rotax and the SKUSA-based Stock Honda Shifter program. The 2011 I-5 Corridor Series has been planned around the schedules of the SKUSA ProTour, the Rotax U.S. Grand Nationals and the Rotax Pan American Series, allowing Pacific Northwest racers to support both our regional series and the national-level programs.

This season the series will be an official Rotax Max Challenge (RMC) Series, qualifying participants for the 2011 U.S. Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals to be held July 19-23 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooelle, Utah. The series will adhere to the Rotax Max Challenge Series structure from top to bottom, using accredited officials and running specified RMC-length heats and mains.

The I-5 Corridor Series is also home to the region’s best shifter kart pilots, using the popular SKUSA stock Honda class structure, and will help prepare racers for this year’s SKUSA's ProMoto Tour and the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas this November.

A new addition to this year’s class structure is the SuperSport 200 class, more commonly known as the Clone class. This class will run at all four race weekends on Saturdays only for 2011, as part of the PARC SuperSport 200 Series Championship Series.
