KENT, Wash. (April 19, 2010) – Pacific Grand Prix will proudly host the biggest stars of the Rally America Championship Series on April 22nd, just prior to the Olympus Rally event later that weekend. Subaru Rally Team USA drivers Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra along with NOS Energy Drink driver Andrew Comrie-Picard and others will be on hand to promote the Olympus Rally round of this National Series. A press stage will take place utilizing the .8 mile, 14 turn PGP asphalt course and just prior to the completion of one-lap the Rally drivers will be diverted and will launch their cars up the 50-foot high embankment that surrounds the facility onto a temporary dirt course that encompasses the grounds.
In addition, a public charity function in support of the Ronald McDonald House will pit 12 lucky spectators against the likes of Pastrana and other Rally professionals on hand including Mirra, Comrie-Picard, Van Way, Keeney, Cavett and the National Guard sponsored entry of Mark Fox, to name a few. This Mini Grand Prix special event will utilize the full PGP circuit as well as the fleet of high performance Birel Rental race karts. It isn’t often that the public has a chance to race with such an exciting group of X-treme drivers. A donation of $5.00 will go to the Ronald McDonald House for each chance to have your name drawn as one of the 12 to compete. This is a lot of fun, it is for a great cause and it should not be missed.
NOS Energy Drink will be on hand with the Need For Speed – Shift Video game “Road to Formula D” promotion. Games 2 U will also have an interactive display set up and the factory teams will have the full transport support centers out on display. Hammer Nutrition will have their new race transport on site along with a display of their endurance products.
There will be some alternative motorsports taking part in some exhibition events that showcase just some of the uses that the PGP Motorsports Complex so uniquely supports. These will include Drifting, Supermoto motorcycles, Lapping with exotic street cars and Shifter Karts.
