KENT, Wash. — (June 14, 2012) Weekends at PGP are always jam-packed with fun and exciting racing action, and this Saturday and Sunday are no exception.
We've got the next event in our Rental Enduro series, a special Father/Child race and a karting clinic to get you ready for the annual Seattle Children's Hospital fundraiser. Details:
Friday: Deadline for Sunday's Father/Child Race
To celebrate Father's Day on Sunday we're putting on a special Father/Child race event (details below). There are just a few spots remaining in the field of 10 teams, and registration closes at 5 p.m. Friday, June 15.
Each team will consist of a father and one child, son or daughter, minimum age 15, and the entry fee per team is $85.
Saturday: Spring-Summer Rental Endurance Series Race
The weekend's racing starts at 9 a.m. with the Saturday Morning Rental Enduro. Come alone and race in the Ironman class or grab up to two friends to form a team, but pre-registration for these popular races is strongly encouraged by email, fax or in person, using the forms on our website.
Saturday Morning Enduro events include one practice session and one 90-minute competitive racing session. Karts are assigned by random draw and we'll continue the popular practice of alternating karts after each pit stop for parity. Also, we use ballast weight to ensure everyone is on an even playing field.
Cost per person is based on number of drivers on the team: Three-person team/cost per driver: $50 member, $60 non-member; two-person team/cost per driver: $75 member, $85 non-member; one-person team: $125 member, $135 non-member.
Sunday: Father/Child race and karting clinic for Children's Hospital fundraiser
The Father/Child Race starts promptly at noon on Sunday, with sign-in by 11:30 a.m. Both members of the team will race in two 15-lap heats and we'll combine their times into one team score. The team with the lowest total aggregate time wins FREE entry into PGP's June 30 Rental Endurance race.
Later on Sunday, from 1:30-5:30 p.m., event coordinator Sean Naslund will host a karting clinic for all participants registered for this year's annual Karting Challenge fundraiser to benefit Seattle Children's Hospital. For information on signing up for this clinic, email Sean at snaslund02@yahoo.com.
